My doctor called me today. I have a hematoma. Another one. For no good reason this time. The last time I had one was two days after my surgery and I had to go to the hospital. That was because I sneezed and ripped open a suture. Here I am now, 1 year post op, and near my incision sight I have another hematoma. My doctor has already conferred with a vascular surgeon. No, I don't need surgery. He is trying to get information. He is going to be contacting a hematologist next. Dr. Stein has suggested that maybe next week he will order some tests for me, to rule out several blood disorders/diseases. He is very puzzled as to why I would have the hematoma where I have it, and the time frame of it all. He also mentioned that this new problem has nothing to do with the fact that I bleed monthly, despite the hysterectomy. I told Dr. Stein I was simply keeping him employed. He laughed and went on to say that I solely would be sending his kids to college. That is so true. Good thing I have great medical insurance.

He told me to expect pain the next 6-8 weeks while the hematoma dissipates. I am not to lift anything heavy, and I am under strict instruction to TAKE IT EASY. Does that mean I get a housekeeper? Maybe I'll just bake cupcakes. Cupcakes make everything better.
