I'm up. I can't sleep, although today I could have slept in, even though I am going into work today. Normally I don't work on Friday's, but Canyon asked me if I could come in this morning to answer the phone for him (such a hard task I realize), but that will give me time to finish up the last project I started this week. I'm sure that when/if Richard notices all the changes in the office he will be completely dazzled. Actually, it's Sonja that will be doing the happy dance when she sees all that I have done. It's alot easier to breath in the office now, without all those stacks of paper ready to topple down on you when you go in the back office. But today is jeans day, so I don't have to spend a ton of time ironing anything or making sure that my outfit is just right, I am throwing on jeans and a sweater and calling it good. Have I mentioned that I love my job? I totally do.
In other job news, Brannon has had 2 interviews. One already called back and told him he was completely and totally OVER QUALIFIED for the job, which we already new. The other job, one that he would LOVE TO HAVE, we have not heard back from. Waiting for that second interview we hope. Today he meets with a headhunter. Hopefully he will have some good news for us. Next week will be 4 weeks that Brannon has been without a paycheck and I feel that full on panic is about to set in on my part. Right now I'm at that I'm-about-to-freak-out-but-I'm-not-quite-there-yet-give-me-one-more-week stage. I'm hoping that after Brannon's meeting with the headhunter my mind will be put at ease. Having someone else look for you a job just doubles your chances. God is in control, I keep reminding myself of this.
I am thinking about putting the word out too that I am in the market for some part time employment. Brannon worked on my resume for me and I will send it on to Mark to polish it up for me. I was in the mall the other day, Steph had given me one of the gazillion free panty coupons Victoria's Secret sends her on a regular basis, and while I was there, walking past all the stores, noticing all the signs they had out for holiday help. Although, as empty as the mall was, my consumer confidence was not high. I suppose it is optimistic of them to be hiring holiday help, but will they need it? The election will be over in less than 2 weeks and hopefully this will all ease up some. At least I am paying very close to 2 dollars a gallon these days for gas. When I was out yesterday I do believe gas in these parts was $2.17 a gallon. A bright spot!!
I'm glad I finally have something to talk about. In my next post I will be telling the story of the insert for our fireplace. It's a good story. I can't wait to tell it.
