Wow, it has been an entire month since I have updated. Where does the time go? What have we been up to? Let's recap.
Week of July 20-26: The kids and I were getting them ready for summer camp. I was working, and the kids had a babysitter. She took them to do fun things, go to the zoo, the discovery center, fun stuff. Jacob and I whack down the ugly box elder bushes in the front lawn.
Week of July 27-Aug 2: Still getting ready for summer camp. This required that I go down to the pit, aka the kid's play room. I had to wade through boxes of crap to find the kids' duffel bags and sleeping bags. I was victorious, except that both of the kids' bags had broken zippers. Jacob's bag was ok enough to use, the only zippers that were broken were the side ones. One was broken, the rest were ok. Lauren's bag was beyond repair; she had to use real luggage, because it's all I had.
August 3-9: The kids are at camp. Brannon and I have a honeymoon at home. It was WONDERFUL. Tuesday night of this week we go up to camp and hang out with the kids. We had a great time.
August 10-16: I am stupid busy at work. Kristina (the kid's babysister) is still taking them to do fun stuff while I slave away at the office. We are starting to think about back to school. Brannon has been busy working on the hot tub. After we bought it Brannon decided to upgrade to a digital package (heat control and all the spa guts). Jacob had orientation for Pershing Middle School. He handled it alot better than I did. I was a mess afterward. I called Brannon and just cried.
August 17-23: Brannon and I went furniture shopping. We did GOOD! Lauren got an antique desk and dresser. They are both in need of a little TLC. (ok, the dresser, ALOT of TLC!) Jacob got an antique desk as well. Brannon and I are convinced that we got the desk for a STEAL. It is solid walnut and VERY EXTREMELY HEAVY. I am still on the lookout for vintage chairs. So far no luck, but I have all fall to shop. My boss was on vacation. I thought I was going to get alot done around the office. HA! If only...
August 24-Today: The kids went back to school this past week. I was really REALLY ready for them to go back to school. Jacob has to be at the bus at about 45 minutes past STUPIDLY EARLY (6). That's right, he leaves the house for the bus stop at 6:40 AM. You read that right. I've been so proud of him, he hasn't complained at all. I think that I've done all his whining for him. I have to be up extra stupidly early to make sure he doesn't miss the bus. I'm so tired by the time I get home from work, all I've managed to do in the afternoons is nap. Oooops. I'm thinking next week will be better.
